Allison’s Helpful Hints For Pure Essence Oils

* Don’t let the oil directly touch plastics, furniture or fabric, as it can possibly discolor and stain them.
* For measuring or pouring, the dropper top may be removed. Place a butter knife between the plastic dropper top and the bottle. It should easily pry off. When done pop the top back on the bottle for further dropping use.
* You can make your car smell great with your favorite oil scent. Get a tissue and fold in 1” fan folds. Dab 10 to 12 drops of oil directly across the tissue. Shake the tissue out and loosely bunch it up. Then toss it under the car seat.
* Making potpourri is rather simple. Get 1 bags of unscented potpourri and put into a plastic zip-lock bag. Sprinkle 4 teaspoons of oil over the potpourri. Seal the top of the bag. After letting it rest for 4 or 5 days, the oil will be absorbed into the potpourri. Now it will be ready to enjoy.
* Another tip, to make your house smell great, is to fill an old pot or tea kettle with water and your oil. If you don’t have a container, look for one at thrift stores or garage sells. Fill the pot or kettle approximately ¾ full with water, then bring to a rolling boil. Turn down the temperature to low before adding 2 to 4 teaspoons of oil into the water. You can always add more oil if desired, or as the aroma diminishes. The scented water will simmer throughout the day, filling your home with the fragrance. Don’t leave the house, of course, with scented water simmering on your stove.
* To make the exhaust on your vacuum cleaner smell fresh, put 5 or 6 drops of oil on a cotton ball and place it inside the vacuum cleaner bag. The exhaust will heat up the oil which will let the scent be released into your home when you vacuum.
